1) Will my insurance cover my acupuncture appointment costs?
Acupuncture is covered by many people's health insurance; you will be supplied with the proper forms to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Acupuncture & Herbal Solutions is a fee-for-service clinic, which means payment is expected when services are rendered.
2) Can I get acupuncture if I am under a physician's care?
Yes, Western medicine and Oriental medicine are complementary. We can answer any questions your physician may have regarding treatment.
3) Are the needles sterile?
Yes, all the needles used are disposable needles and used only once.
4) Is it painful?
No, the needles used in acupuncture are thin like a hair and inserted through tubes because they are so flexible. They are not hypodermic needles as used to give injections. Clients are pleasantly surprised that their treatments are pleasurable, comfortable and amazed at how small the needles actually are.
5) How much does it cost?
I offer a free 15-minute consultation to evaluate your treatment possibilities with acupuncture and to answer any specific questions or concerns you may have. Your initial consultation is approximately 1 1/2-2 hours and includes a full assessment with tongue and pulse analysis. These initial consultations provide me with insight and information as I create a treatment specific to your needs. The initial fee is $150.00 and subsequent visits are $85.00 and last approximately 50 minutes. Cosmetic visits, which are1 hour, are $100.00.
6) How long will it take to see results?
Acute conditions respond more quickly than chronic conditions. Each case is individual and will be discussed on the initial visit.
7) Do I have to take Chinese herbs?
No, however, using Chinese herbal formulas may enhance the results of your acupuncture treatment. I use granular, liquid, capsule, and tablet forms of Chinese herbs from reputable herbal companies in the United States such as Evergreen, Kan, and Golden Flower Herbs.
